MillMumbai is an online repository of material that not only details the various contestations around the mill lands of Mumbai, but also explores how people have coped with the traumatic changes around these places, and how the cultural spaces of Mill Mumbai have transformed and continue to survive.
This web archive of audio-visual and text resources pertaining to the mill lands of Mumbai, its people and their struggles, features films made by the students and faculty of the School of Media and Cultural Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, films made by other filmmakers, reports put together by academics and non-governmental organizations, interviews with key figures involved in the mill struggles, photographs, poems, songs and other resources.
I was responsible for the conceptualization, design and development of this site along with Ashwin Nag.
Remembering 1992 is a digital archive that seeks to revisit and remember the communal violence that the city of Bombay/Mumbai experienced in December 1992 and January 1993. This site includes 6 films, video interviews and transcripts, news clippings, reports and other resources. The project started with the films that were made by students and faculty of the School of Media and Cultural Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences and was used as a part of the campaign Bombay Ki Kahani Mumbai Ki Zubaani, held between December 2012 and January 2013.
